Common Scams to Avoid
Unlicensed or fake taxis at Schiphol's arrivals curb quote inflated flat rates instead of using the meter, always walk to the official taxi stand marked "Taxi" outside the terminal and insist on a metered ride or pre-book a licensed operator.
Train ticket machines near baggage claim may be tampered with to reject foreign cards or dispense wrong fares. Use the blue-and-yellow NS machines on the main concourse or buy at the service desk.
